Chilton is a small, civilised, 'family' school, set in and around an imposing 18th Century Manor and grounds. The School offers a genuine all-round education, designed to develop each pupil's communicative, analytical and problem solving skills. Our excellent teacher/pupil ratio enables us to focus on maximising the potential of each individual pupil in terms of both personal and exam success. GCSE results are impressive.
The School encourages the acquisition of modern languages and all communication skills. Fully integrated into the mainstream curriculum of the School is a small Special Learning Needs Department. Teaching groups are small: 12 is generally the maximum number per Form in the Preparatory Department (ages 7-11), with 8-10 per Form thereafter.
The activities programme, co-ordinated and organised by our ex-Chief PTI (RN) Director of Games/Activities includes fencing, judo, riding, archery, caving, abseiling, canoeing, and all major team sports. Girls teams are equally strong with coaching provided by our experienced in-house specialists.
